The Level 5 Operations-Departmental Standard is designed for learners who manage teams and/or projects and are responsible for the achievement of operational or departmental goals and objectives as part of the delivery of an organisation’s strategy. These roles can be in the private, public or third sector and in all sizes of organisations. Roles may include operations manager, regional manager, divisional manager, department manager and specialist managers. Key responsibilities may include creating and delivering operational plans, managing projects, leading and managing teams, managing change, financial and resource management, talent management, coaching and mentoring.

This Apprenti-kit has been designed to support apprentices taking this standard.

Product overview

This Apprenti-kit has been written to support the required knowledge, skills and behaviours of the Level 5 Operations-Departmental Standard. It covers wide-ranging sector-based activities to support and enhance learners' understanding and achievement.

Included in the Apprenti-kit is a welcome booklet designed to give the learner, employer and tutor an understanding of the new apprenticeship standards, advising them on what is required from each of them throughout the apprenticeship journey.

The skills and behaviours activity pack, written to support on-programme delivery consists of practical sector-based activities designed to meet the skills and behaviours of the modules referenced above.

The activity pack includes guidance for completing the activities, and presenting reports and findings, and also templates for carrying out practical tasks. It also includes the following:

  • a self-assessment and revision form for each activity
  • full mapping of the activities to the standard
  • a reflection on your learning record
  • a total learning time log to record on and off-the-job hours
